SUP Adventure: Wallingford to Streatley
A half day Adventure on a stunning stretch of the River Thames
Session description
A leisurely downstream route through a scenic Oxfordshire countryside. This is an awesome stretch of river full of wildlife, pretty villages and great coffee stops! Meet us The Swan at Streatley and we will transport you to the start point in Wallingford where your boards will be waiting for you. We will set off from there and paddle a couple of hours downstream, under the historic Wallingford Bridge and into rural farmland. We’ll stop for coffee at The Beetle and Wedge Pub in Moulsford before heading on to Streatley. The river widens here and runs past Withymead Nature Reserve, look out for heron, cormorant and kingfisher. This trip typically involves around 3.5 hrs paddleboarding spread throughout the morning. There will be plenty of rest stops and breaks and no-one gets left behind! Our adventure finishes back at The Swan at Streatley. This is a great place to stay on for lunch - book a table in the riverside restaurant Coppa Club, or treat yourself to lunch and a glass of something cold at The Lobster Bar on the lawn. Previous paddleboard experience isn't a pre-requisite however you should be fit & healthy and comfortable with being out on the water for 3-4 hours. If you're unsure, book onto our beginner group session or a 1:1 SUP lesson. What’s included? - All paddle board and safety equipment and river licence - Tuition and tour guidance from our BSUPA qualified instructors throughout the trip - Coffee stop at The Beetle & Wedge We will go around Cleeve Lock and our experienced instructors are always on hand to help you navigate these safely. 18 years+ anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a full paying adult.
